Hole 9: A ball lying the other side of the wall, left and right, is deemed to be in the penalty area.
Players should take point of entry relief under rule 17.1.

All paths and roads, even if not artificially surfaced, are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed.

Immovable obstruction close to the putting green (Rule 16).
Relief from the interference by an immovable obstruction may be obtained under rule 16.1.
C: is not in a penalty area or on a putting green. The ball may be cleaned when lifted.
In addition if a ball lies off the putting green, but not in a penalty area, and an immovable obstruction on or within two club lengths of the ball, intervenes on the line of play between the players ball and the hole, the player may take relief as follows:
- The ball must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point of complete relief to where the ball lay that is A: not nearer the hole, and B: avoids the intervening and C: is not in a penalty area or on a putting green.
- The ball may be cleaned when lifted.

A ball is out of bounds if it is:

Beyond any fence, line of white stakes or lines bounding the course, or over any wall (including temporary) bounding the course.
Beyond the white stakes to the left of the 10th green.

Penalty areas are always identified by red stakes. In most cases the boundary is defined by either the grass edge or cart path edge.
In the absence of either, the margin is defined by red posts and a direct line between them.
There are penalty areas on holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 (left side and beyond green), 17 and 18.
In addition there are drop zones in play on holes 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7.
On hole 2, if a ball is deemed to be in the wadi area in front of the men’s tee players may use the drop zone, which is the ladies/red teeing ground.
On holes 3, 5, 6 and 7, if a player’s ball is deemed to be in the landscaping off the tee or in the wadi area, players may use the drop zone indicated by a single red stake and defined by red paint and DZ marking.
A ball considered beyond the drop zone, players may take point of entry relief in the usual way.
